Exporter of Record

Re-exports, equipment returns, commercial goods — full legal export compliance including UCR registration on Egypt’s Nafeza export system.

When goods need to leave Egypt — whether re-exports from a project, equipment returns (RMA), commercial goods, or dual-use hardware — Egyptian export regulations require a registered legal entity to stand as Exporter of Record on all customs declarations. POD is that entity.

We prepare and submit all required export documentation, manage ECCN and dual-use compliance, procure and legalise certificates of origin, and coordinate directly with Egyptian Customs Authority — handling every step so your export moves without delays.

As part of Egypt’s Nafeza export system, every outbound commercial shipment now requires a Unique Consignment Reference (UCR) — a mandatory identifier that must be registered on the Nafeza platform before goods can be presented for customs exit. Without a registered UCR, your goods will not be authorised to leave Egypt. POD generates, registers, and links the UCR to all corresponding export documentation for every shipment we handle.

Trusted ship freight solutions tailored to move your cargo safely across global trade routes.

UCR — Unique Consignment Reference: what you must know
  • The UCR is Egypt’s mandatory export tracking identifier, introduced as part of the Nafeza export system. It is required on all commercial export shipments and must be registered on the Nafeza platform before goods are presented to Egyptian Customs for exit clearance.

    • POD generates the UCR at shipment booking stage — before cargo moves
    • The UCR is registered on Egypt’s Nafeza export platform by POD
    • All export documents — invoice, packing list, bill of lading — are cross-referenced to the UCR
    • Without a registered UCR, goods will be held at the port or airport and will not be authorised for export
    • POD’s pre-export checklist ensures the UCR is always in place before cargo reaches the exit point
When do you need an Exporter of Record?

    • You are exporting Egyptian-origin goods or finished products to international buyers

    • You need UCR generation and Nafeza export registration handled by a specialist
Frequently asked questions — EOR Egypt

What is a UCR and why does my export need one?

UCR stands for Unique Consignment Reference — a mandatory identifier introduced as part of Egypt’s Nafeza export system. Every commercial export shipment must have a UCR registered on the Nafeza platform before goods can be presented at the port or airport for customs exit. POD generates and registers the UCR as part of our standard EOR service.

Can POD manage both IOR and EOR for the same shipment cycle?

Yes — and this is one of POD’s strongest advantages. Because we manage both the inbound IOR and the outbound EOR, the documentation trail is consistent, the customs records align, and the entire import-to-export cycle is managed by a single accountable partner with no gaps.

What happens if a UCR is missing when my cargo reaches the port?

Your export will not be authorised. Goods will be held at the port or airport, accruing storage and demurrage charges, until a UCR is registered and accepted. POD’s process ensures the UCR is always registered before cargo departs your premises.
